CHALLENGE
Longford County Council sought to encourage a broad cross-section of the community to think differently about their town and to see the potential for the future.
SOLUTION
We developed a participatory mapping project that asked people of all ages to share pictures of places in the town in the past, present and future using the Space Engagers app and in community workshops.
IMPACT
The data gathered has supported urban planning policy. The project was shortlisted for a European Innovation in Politics Institute award in 2019, an Irish Planning Institute award in 2018, and features in the newsletter of the Irish Pavilion of the Venice Biennale Architettura 2018.
